Hi, I’m Mark.

I’m a software product builder, and I've spent years developing complex software and systems — but when it came to my personal finances, I outsourced my financial decisions to an advisor.

I had the usual mix of products — a retirement annuity, TFSA, life cover, investments — but I never felt like I had a solid grasp on any of it. I was seemingly “doing the right things,” but still had that low-level anxiety that I might be missing something... or everything.

So one day I started digging. I pulled apart every statement, every product brochure, every line of fine print on every policy — trying to figure out what I actually had, what it was costing me, and whether it all made sense.

What started as frustration became a full-blown obsession. I realised there was a huge gap between the tools people had access to — and what they actually needed to feel confident with their money.

FinBox is my attempt to close that gap.

It’s a growing collection of tools that unpack the confusing parts of personal finance. Tools that explain things in plain language, expose what really matters, and give you clarity without the jargon.

My belief is simple: you shouldn't need a financial degree — or a financial adviser — to understand what’s happening with your money (but you might need one to help you make the right decisions).
